No, I'm not even certain they have a stop sign. There's one stop light in all of Oscoda county, at the corner of M33 & M72 in Mio.

Goose could develop a weekly newsletter and call it "The Stop Light" - paying homage to the only known stoplight in the entire area. He could dedicate a page to a crossword puzzle, a page to recipes, a page to local events at the VFW and then the other 6-7 pages could be obituaries.

We have no kids, so I try telling my wife jokes likes these. She stopped listening to me around 2002.

our main problem is that my daughter (sorry For bin) and I begin high-fiving each other while my wife prepares a series of disgusted looks on her face.tGreenWay wrote:Robert J Sakimano wrote:me and the kid giggle uncontrollably.. the wife just slowly beats her head on the closest table.

I'm not sure if the disgusted looks and subsequent beating of her head on the table are a result of the joke itself or the fact that she agreed to marry me around 25 years ago.

Hay Press would be an early form of baling hay.
Threshing was what you did to corn and grains like wheat AFTER you collected the shocks from the field.

I'm trying restrict this to Oscoda County, to go beyond that would overwhelm people here with the choices...for example look at the dining options. Where else can you get a 10oz New York Strip for $7?? I know WBH will be sorely tempted to jump in the minivan for these specials:
Lost Creek Sky Ranch 57 mins ·
Today on special we have bacon wrapped asparagus for 7.99 for an order of six. We also have a 10 oz NYS for $6.99 and a 12 oz for 8.99. We also have Flautas which are a deep fried rolled chicken taco served with rice and refried beans. We also have homemade peach cobbler and homemade strawberry cheesecake.

Dibs on the desserts. I have a feeling that at those prices, the beef might be a wee chewy.

lol, could be. Although Lost Creek's food tends to be OK. You can buy New York strip right now for $3.50# in whole loins so it's pretty cheap. The food around here tends toward stupid cheap, my mother likes to go to the Ausable River restaurant on Friday nights. Their Cod dinner is 3 nice pieces of Cod and unlimited salad bar for $8.50. So roughly your appetizer price in many restaurants. Not gourmet by any stretch but a decent meal. It's nearly as damned good as the early bird specials in FL.
