I'm not going to write it down, because it's here forever!
Only 1 RB went in the 1st Round this year. Derrick Henry went in the 2nd.

That is a good point. The position is not a great investment for NFL teams.

So much platooning goes on at the RB position these days. You gotta be a huge stud to get drafted in the 1st round these days.

Re: LJ Scott: future first rounder
I think it's more likely that he gets to the NFL and produces in such a way that people will say that he should have been a first rounder. Too few backs go in the first round anymore, and we spread our carries too much. I just don't see it happening. Love the spirit of the thread, though.

I would bet he would win a fight with a gorilla and liger together easily.
Re: LJ Scott: future first rounder
Nah. Not fast enough. Look at first round backs...Gurley, Elliott, Fournette, etc. Strong runners that can also house 80 yards runs.
LJ will be a beast for MSU and has a role like a Blount imo for the NFL

How does that make sense. Didnt JL post the fastest 40 time of all backs?

Dude has a headcase vibe. Had one last year. Seems like he chose to sit out half the season he had to prove his worth. And didn't "work" when he played.
I seem to recall Dantonio giving a quote last year like "the docs cant find anything... I guess those toe injuries are tricky" or something. As to why he sat.

So, whenever this type of thread comes up, you immediately look for yourself and see what kind of dumb ass you were. Glad I wasn't in this one. Not that I'm not a dumb ass, I am.

Not as much as OTPT is about MSU running backs.

It's not really that much of a stretch, OTPT.
Looking at that play again, I never noticed until now how Iowa #49 tackles Iowa #27 by diving straight at his knee, and bent it in a way it's not supposed to. That must’ve left a bruise.

Re: LJ Scott: future first rounder
Just speculating, but I'm guessing he didn't love the game. At least not anymore, or at least not relative to the physical toll. If he's quitting altogether, that means not even trying the CFL or that other start up league. And obviously he didn't want to put in all the work to be in game shape just on the unlikely chance that he gets a call to be a 3rd stringer in the NFL for a few weeks while someone is hurt. Those all seem like options that would require a real intense love for the game. No disrespect to him at all if he decided it's not worth it for him. He'll always have that legendary moment, plus a fair few other pretty good moments.

May very well be true. If I was in his shoes and had no long term plans to play professionally, I'd seriously consider sucking it up for one more year at MSU to get my degree, but I say that without knowing anything about his classroom performance.
I could speculate on some other things but I'll zip it for now.
Best wishes and thanks for the B1G championship.

Too late for that now obviously. I'm sure he collected a small signing bonus from Baltimore and Cleveland.
