How Trump can change Washington
I wanted to keep the political stuff out of the other thread, at least for the time being. Saw this earlier this morning. Thoughts on this? Is this possible vs. probable?

I googled the author, seems credible. I don't know anything about the politico site and if it has a left/right stance.

IMO Jeff Greenfield is ok. Politico is fairly straight with a somewhat left lean.
The gist of the article is absolute truth. Reagan was always constrained by Congress.
He did what he could, but people knew that without the House there was only so much
possible.
The next 4 years it may well be Trump constraining Congress - the thought of that
might send shivers down some spines.

I don't think much will change over the next 8 years.

I really don't think Trump will get a second term, but then again, I didn't think he'd be the GOP nominee, let alone win it all.
I do agree with your assessment of little change. Despite saying he's going to drain the swamp, Trump is replacing Obama's inside-the-beltway elites with his own inside-the-beltway elites. Making the head of the entire Republican Party his chief of staff sends a loud message that little will change. Appointing a couple of billionaires to his Cabinet suggests it's going to be a very profitable four years for the top of the one-percenters. The rest of us be damned.
