DRONES!!!!

Any of you creepers buy a Drone yet? Any recommendations?
Ordered this one from Amazon as a gift: It will probably be trashed in a few days, but I'll be long gone by then, but the delight in the kids' eyes when they open it up will last forever. What kid doesn't want a remote control flying machine for xmas?

Speaking of which, I'm probably going to order me one. Are these cheapos worth it, or do I have spend big $$$. I'm eyeballing these two, they have a few more bells and whistles:

Hi! I'm Michael and I have owned 2 phantom 3s and I just purchased a mavic pro.
My thoughts on cheap drones: you get what you pay for. If you invest in a high quality DJI then you get the return to home feature and obstacle avoidance and everything a beginner needs to not only get the drone up, get good footage and most importantly get her back.

I cannot speak to the ones you have listed but I would think the features that matter most are range, obstacle avoidance, return to home feature, 1080p at least, 4K is stunning. DJI seems to be the industry standard but I'm sure some of the other ones are functional... that being said, I wouldn't get the go pro drone with battery issues mid flight causing the drone to crash mid flight. Good luck and I can post some videos when I get home.

Do you know of any drones that offer laser weaponry or miniature cruise missiles?

Yeah, I get it. You get what you pay for. Not sure I'm at the point where I want to drop too much cash on it just yet. The two that I listed for ~$100 both have the return to home feature. Which seems pretty key.

I've really wanted one for a while. I think I may have even started a thread here about it. But I can't really figure out what I would use it for.

These little toy drones?
The big boy drones, the nice expensive ones...I can get an add-on to my pilots license by just doing a bunch of on-line shit(and having never actually flown one
) to be able to fly them commercially.

I picked up this bad boy for "the children." Normally $100, on sale for $30. It is fun as hell.

Daughter boarded Radiance of the Seas while it was in dry dock in Portland last May before starting a Summer of Vancouver to Alaska cruises.
Found this drone vid that was taken a couple days before she got there. Pretty cool, especially the overhead shot running the length of the ship. Guy said the vid was taken with a Phantom 3 that was GPS controlled. The overhead pass was 125' above the boat.
