Monday
Last day of vacation here. In that, I mean kids back to school tomorrow and life back to reality. What is tSwill up to today? Anyone planning on canoeing this afternoon?

I've only had short weeks, so no extended time off, but it still helps.
I'm couch canoeing today. Great sport.

nice Floyd.
I'm trying to come up with an excuse to cancel my 2 pm. This is technically a company holiday but I think my client may balk. I want to do some canoeing, also.

I went golfing yesterday. Hopefully I can watch some games. If not, I think I'm going to go buy a tv, so I can watch games instead of kids shows.

Curious as to who's working today, it being a federal holiday and all. This is technically a holiday for all of America. Would they be playing the Rose Bowl if it wasn't?

I think my client is technically off, as well, but they are going live tomorrow with what we've built for them. Still, all issues are closed, the planets and stars are aligned and there is nothing really to discuss. I reached out, we'll see. Would like to just have the calendar cleared for my last day of freedom.

Do you not understand what the word "unless" means? Besides, it's not in public; it's in my backyard, which has a privacy fence.
But let's revisit your understanding of the word "unless."

General statement. Not in reference to you, just your mention of sweats. You're simpleton.

Gumbo recipe?
Wife just nixed the pork butt till tomorrow. Daughters last night home, evidently we're doing something "special". I guess that means i"m dropping bills at a restaurant somewhere. fuck.
Gumbo:
Ingredients:
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts cubed up
1 lb smoked sausage. ( I used andoulli )
3/4 lb shrimp
You'll need a 1/4 cup veggie oil
salt pepper
5 tablespoons of butter
chopped onion
8 cloves garlic minced
3 stalks celery chpped
1 green bell pepper chopped (also throw in a jalapeno for a bit more kick0
1/4 bunch flat leaf parsley stems and leafs chopped
4 cups hot water
5 beef bouillon cubes
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
can of stewed tomatoes
1 cup frozen sliced okra
4 green onions sliced white and green parts
And yes, I took pictures last night
Salt and pepper the chicken and throw it in a thick bottom pot with the 1/4 cup oil cook till brown on both sides and remove
Add the sausage and cook a bit so the roux gets flavored remove that
Put your flour in the oil and 5 tablespoons of butter still till brown
Let the roux cool
Now add the onion, garlic, green and jalapeno pepper, celery and cook for ten minutes
add the worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper it to taste and the celery
Add the 4 cups hot water the bouillon cubes and whisk the shit out of it for like 5 minutes. If you''ve masterbated it will be easier whisking.
Add the chicken and sausage and bring to a boil, then simmer for 45 minutes
Add the Okra and stewed tomatoes
Simmer all that shit for 1 hour.
Then right before serving add the green onions and shrimp and the chopped parsley
Shit rocks.

Aren't the puffy kind soft when fresh?

I haven't done anything since the 22nd. Saw family and friends while also took a couple days to deep clean my home and relax. It's tradition now I get all this time off around Christmas and I love it. Today I'll probably just cook my lunches and get laundry done. Have a lot of football to watch as well.

Turtle, So maybe 15 years ago I put one of those Sony under cabinets cd/radio players in. It’s pretty unnoticeable and not thought of yearly. We just don’t use it and when I upgrade the kitchen next fall it will be gone. At Christmas my wife has old Christmas CD’s when she decorated the house and tree she plays them. It’s used once a year, but I love when it’s used. My girls and wife are together, same songs played since they were small I’m usually drunk and sitting in the living room and it’s my happiest place. That’s why it’s there Turtle. And yes when I upgrade it’s gonna break my heart to take it out. What’s worse is that now when the cupboards come down and that disappears I’m going to think of turtle. Fucking great. .

Holy cow, is it ever. When my kids came home from school this year, especially when the oldest moved back and we needed to find space for the dresser, desk, bed and that kind of shit we had bought her for MSU apartments and houses, and we put the mini fridges in the garage, and the dressers down stairs in the basement, and boxes of shit in our upstairs hallway, I got the heebeejeebee's at the amount of "stuff" we had. So, this week we started purging. OH MY GOD! The "stuff", we've kept in the basement because "Remember when", and then you just forget about it, but it's in boxes and it almost becomes unseeable because it's just been there. I need to fill my truck up three times and go to the dump yard. Not joking. Definitely 2 times. Also old paper records and shit. This weekend they're having free shredding at comerica in Livonia. I'm there. Anyway, my god the stuff that you once said "remember when" or "oh how cute" has become "why the fuck is this still here?" From the garage I'm sending a crap ton of soccer balls, roller blades in various sizes, couple of basketballs, some baseball mitts and shit like that to the purple heart or toys for tots. This will be a project that lasts till the end of June, but I'll feel good about the space and the house and myself and perhaps some of the people who will get some pretty new and barely used stuff.
