It's hardball in the big leagues of politics.

I've known people who have worked in high level positions in statewide campaigns who get phased out within weeks of their candidate winning.

During the campaign her explanations of what candidate Trump meant to say were helpful. When she admitted the campaign repeated lies about Hillary Clinton her explanation that it didn't matter endeared her to Trump's base. She told voters they had to know what was in Trump's heart.

President Trump wants popularity. Ms Conway has outlived her usefulness to President Trump.
