yeah, more fake bullshit. I'm hoping "The Hill" passes the "pylon test".

The Top 10 and 24 of the top 28 members holding town halls over the last 2 years? R's.

But when you can make a point by distorting the facts, who cares?

GOP lawmakers lead way in holding town halls

The 10 lawmakers who have held the most in-person town hall meetings over the last two years are all Republicans.

Since the beginning of the 114th Congress in 2015, four Republicans — Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (Wis.), Sens. Mike Crapo (Idaho) and Jerry Moran (Kan.) and former Rep. Tim Huelskamp (Kan.) — held more than 100 in-person town hall meetings.

And 24 of the 28 lawmakers who have held the most town halls, according to records maintained by the independent site Legistorm, are Republicans.

Protests at town hall meetings by those defending the Affordable Care Act have led some lawmakers to pare back or cancel their in-person events.

Critics of President Trump and people worried that ObamaCare’s repeal could leave them without health insurance have shouted, jeered and asked tough questions to a number of Republican lawmakers, earning headlines and cable news coverage in the process.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) both came under fire at recent events, while Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) had to be escorted out of one raucous gathering by local police.

Democratic activists and those who support ObamaCare have castigated Republicans for skipping town hall meetings during the February recess, when more than 200 members of Congress did not hold in-person town hall events.

No one attends town halls but bored old people for 1.9 years- they go to them
People start attending because they have something to say, they stop going- people have a problem with that.

Including those random years where people had no issue is the selective shit my friend.

Also seriously have you found out where I can get some of that Soros protest cash yet?

Communicating with constituents is important. Like...if you run with the platform that you're going to repeal Obamacare, then people are going to wonder about their health care. What's the delay? What is the new program?

Fine tuned machine...

Look, they've only had six years with this stuff. Give them time. I hear that Rand Paul was in the basement of congress looking for a copy of what the republicans had put together in that time.

I just don't even understand what you were going for in this thread. Like "bros, I know they have sometimes skipped them lately, and they have accused their own constituents of being paid protesters totally baselessly, but check this out, they totally attended them in 2015 and during a campaign year. Check. Mate. Goose wins."

Like, what the hell man? That's some weird ass logic bro.

good point.

I suppose it's easier for them to attend town hall meetings in 2014-15 when their sole objective was to oppose the colored boy from Kenya at every turn.

Now.. in 2017.. that they have to answer for their support of a racist, bigoted, xenophobic misogynistic sexual predator, they suddenly decide not to make themselves available to their constituents.

Well not really. Rs have still held more this year too. But you wouldn't know that from your news sources. But even though you remain uninformed I'm sure Pylon approves of them.

Some GOP Congressmen like Chafetz from Utah and Amash from MI are bellying up to the bar and having their meetings and sometims taking a beating. Sen Cotton and the Speaker have done the same.

Ohers like Huisenga from MI tried the telephone call in dodge with ten scripted questins and no reporters. After criticism Huisenga had his first meeting in in person last week.

Then there are the Gommert (TX) who says he's afraid of "paid protestors" and won't have meetings.

A trail for Travis to follow to the ca$$h.

Anti-Trump #FakeTownhall goal is to make GOP look 'cowardly'

Moving with unusual speed for a political operation, the upstart liberal group "Indivisible" is changing strategies to embarrass House Republicans around the country with what amounts to fake town halls.

Guidance from the group, started by three former Democratic Capitol Hill staffers, said the goal is to move beyond protests by holding faux town halls then mocking the member of Congress when he or she fails to show, a model tested last month and planned for the Easter break.

"There's no more effective way to illustrate that your [member of Congress] is in hiding than by holding the event that they're too scared to consider," said the guidance for hosting a "Constituents Town Hall."

It's an easy strategy that builds on the group's initial pressure at lawmakers — organized town halls in January. Set up a town hall, invite a lawmaker, then move forward when the invitation isn't accepted. "If they don't show — that's makes them look bad, not you," the guidance said.

And of course the Fake News loving Washington Post plays along.....
In Northern Virginia, when Rep. Barbara Comstock was targeted by the group, she let them and the media know in advance that she had previous plans and couldn't attend.

"The congresswoman had a long-standing prior commitment with Catholic Charities, and has hosted two telephone town halls that reached approximately 9,000 constituents where she can engage in a civil and conversational manner," said deputy chief of staff Jeff Marschner. It's the same approach Democratic Virginia Rep. Gerry Connolly has followed without criticism.

But how did the Washington Post headline the event the paper knew two weeks earlier that she couldn't attend? "Comstock is a no-show at town hall."

Comrade goose is exactly like trump. Brietbart and Mark Levin make up a wire tapping story. Trump tweets it and all the news covers it. His minions go in talk shows this morning claiming it's being reported by all media including CNN BBC NYT that Obama MAYhave tapped Trump and IF he did its outrageous

Thing is, the type of voter who voted for trump will be fooled by that.

I don't even know what indivisible is goose. But I do know a lot of people that have attended town halls lately, and unless they were being coy to keep all of that protest cash for themselves, they weren't paid.

Best four years ever.

And I'm sure that if Bush had tapped Obama you'd be comfy with that too. The people pushing the Russian scare on here are the most comfy with Russian style tactics.

Everybody take note this is exactly what the republicans are doing.

Note comrade goose says "if Bush had tapped Obama" like the pos lying president goose has parsed a false narrative. He wants to push this story along by implying Obama DID tap Trump on his own. It's what trolls a liars do. Trump will get the ignorant to go with this comparison but there is none. We know a president can't do that. Try it on trump voters goose it will work.

Yeah, the world's just gone to hell. According to the press. Name one thing that's actually happened that has affected your life negatively?

Asian carp will over run Lake Michigan. Hasn't happened yet, but as the idiots who tout the water being cleaner in the lakes ignore what will happen we have to say well golly gee nothing has yet. My daughters will not be going g to Friday night public school football games with their kids. It will be a sterile no frills building for low income people who can't afford private education. And all games will be AAU. Hasn't happened yet. But...

What does that matter?

I was told what would become of HS sports about 15 years ago by a friend who had just become the AD at a Class B suburban GR school district.

His canaries in the coal mine were the sudden expansion of charter schools, some homeschool parents wanting their children to play in his school's sports program without attending the school and seeing his school's volleyball program decimated by club volleyball which was the first team sport that many MHSAA members had to have its season compete with MHSAA's schedule.

For years we have heard MI has to run their schools like a business and we have seen our state legislators accede to the wishes of Dick and Betsy Devos moving towards charters with vouschers being the final goal. Now Betsy DeVos is Sec of Education and is in a position to push vouchers on a national level.

One result we are already seeing is some charters taking over schools closed because of drops in student population because older districts lose students to charters. We see the charters using state funds takeover buildings and real estate initially paid for by MI taxpayers using state funds to buy the property for a fraction of their costs. Heads they win, tails we lose.

Nothing to worry about if you don't give a rat's ass about the students who will be in our public schools in the next 5-10 years.

Add "administration" then. Bush Administration - Obama Administration. We'll see how it plays out - but I guarantee you that IF Trump was tapped that Obama knew in advance. No low level operative does something that explosive without clearance from the boss.
