I think the part you're missing is that there is a great responsibility in the winter. Morning alarm at 4:00 a.m., bitch of a workout, getting checked on in classes. But given everything that has happened over the past year or so...I just put it all together and it doesn't look likely that lack of toughness would be the main issue. I'd say there's about a 20% chance that this was a toughness issue, and about an 80% chance that this was symptomatic of everything else that went bust last year.

But I get that sunshine blowin' MSU fans would want to paint the prettiest possible picture here (and everywhere).

BTW, what's taking so long with the DA's office? The incident (the first one) happened in mid-Jan and we're now in mid-April. They're still investigating? How slow are these people?

I have no idea why he did what he did. I don't know if the guy in Florida was really a neighbor of his in TC. Guy seemed legit and wife didn't roll eyes about the neighbor comment.

All I did was put what he was telling me together with guys I had known who got to college and left a strict home and kind of let loose. I have zero idea why the kid did what he did

You don't need to draw straws, that's not the point. The point is that Dude attacks MD, you in response attack Dude.

MD makes $5m a year. He is a very public figure. His program shit the bed suddenly, and has been shitting the bed for a year. Criticism is warranted. Why is that a problem?

I'm usually one of the last handful of people to warm up to a HC. MD had won me over about 3 years ago. Just before the playoff game I started a thread with glowing words about MD and what he had accomplished at MSU...reaching levels that most of us never thought were possible. I was hearing MSU football mentioned down here in Texas in terms that makes any Spartan proud, on a local fuckin' radio station! (Fuck, now that I think about it...nothing has been quite right since I posted that. Maybe this is all my fault??)

Anyway, so while I might be slow to feel the sunshine, I CAN feel it on occasion. But lately it's been all dark clouds, and that's not a personal attack on anyone, it's just fact. I have no problem with Dude or Blanch or anyone else pointing to it, repeatedly if they feel like it. It's just a message board.

All some speculation here... assuming the kid (operative word) plays football.

- He gets a free education.
- He won't get pounded by 5 stars from tO$U and scUM and Ped State... and will likely thrive.
- He's in a warm climate.
- He gets away from whatever shit-show led to 3-9, Reschke fall-out, MD reaction, etc. that he doesn't want to deal with.

If he is oriented to his education, or simply unsure of what he wants, the kid just pressed the "reset" button. I won't indict him for it... now the program? It's not a stellar signal.

That's the beauty about my crew. we can have difference and discuss them like adults. Vlad and Herbie are too lib for my tastes, but I dont holD everything else against the. Dude might be a neo Nazi, but he does bring up good questions regarding recruiting. EMC celebrates differences of opinions,instead of suppressing them. I just open discussion no matter how idiotic. The Dowager Lady Margret, Countess and Prefict of Northumbria doesn't have the bandwidth for that

I'll venture a guess that if Lukusa wanted to play D1 football in Arizona or any part of the country he could find a school that would take him. He doesn't (currently) want to play D1 football and the demands that come along with it. Why? I don't know. And maybe that will change... maybe it won't... carry on with the DSF.
