Munn up grades on hold but east side of Spartan stadium has plans

SIAP interesting article. Including plans for 100K seats at SS. Hollis says the way stadiums are going seating wise is less not more so he doubts they'll ever get to that part.

The $18-$20 million addition to Munn Ice Arena has been on hold because of a lack of donations, athletic director Mark Hollis said this week, but revitalizing the Spartans’ hockey home remains “a high priority.”
“It’s just about getting the lead gift in place so something like that can happen,” Hollis said this week at the Big Ten athletic directors meetings.Hollis said internal concrete and rebar in the stadium has been reinforced, and “the next logical step” for Spartan Stadium would be the east side, where gas pumps were removed in recent years that serviced MSU’s motor pool. Possible upgrades there could include more restrooms, more eateries and more open spaces that would help alleviate “pinch-points” that bottle up crowds.Munn upgrades on hold. Not many teams will need 75K by 2025. I love going to home games but I really love my big screen grilling wings drinking adult beverages knowing I only have to walk upstairs when the game is over. Oh, and bathrooms, never a wait. As I work less and less and have less expendable income I'm going to most likely dump my tickets, let the kid take them over and then just pick a game or two a year to go up. Going up to every game is fun but damn hard. And expensive.
