Re: Game of Thrones - catching up
Roc are you referencing the pace for most of the series before they dumb proofed it and sped it up at the end?
Personally the slow burn pacing and strong, meaningful dialogue in the early seasons is a huge factor in why I enjoyed it so much. Some huge event didn’t happen every episode, it made things when they did happen more meaningful and you actually gave a fuck. In the last two seasons when they sped it up 10x it was hard to stay invested and care about was happening because they jammed some big event down that was done terribly down your throat every other 20 minutes. And usually those things didn’t even make sense when thinking about the past 6 seasons and how the characters acted and evolved.

No. My former problem with it was that people would be like let’s go from winter fell to kings landing and then the next scene would be them there and nothing has happened like they all used a transporter of something. I got over it.

As far as TV goes, it ranks far below Two and a Half Men and Last Man Standing.

I’m not sure pantry is looking for any sort of depth when he turns the tv on

Wasn't the mom a zombie in the book for a while? How did that story line end? The actual Wolves were the best and killed off too early.
In the book she was brought back to life but wasn't a zombie (Lady Stonheart). She did look all fucked up though because they threw her body in the river. She did find Brienne, btw, and she killed Brienne because she thought she was loyal to Jamie.

My favorite line from the show was something the hound said: something like “you’re not fooling anyone with that too knot bald c unt.”

Yep and probably digging it more the second time around. S1E8 is on now. Shae just got nakkid. Binged the first few episodes, but can only mentally take one a night. Ned's death and the Red Wedding are two times I got legit pissed reading the books and almost quit.
