Herbie is right. I called him out as an attention whore/victim. I didn't believe him then about his parents, and I don't now. If I'm wrong, then I'll apologize and take my lumps.

I'm still not sure why Herbie would mention growing up in my neighborhood. What's that got to do with anything?

Yep. Lost my dad Christmas Eve day in '86 to the same thing John McCain has now. Have a friend in the neighborhood who will go any day now, from pancreatic cancer. I'm so glad his (adult) kids have been able to spend large portions of the past three weeks with him. Fuck cancer.
