Aid to AG Sessions was trying to dig up dirt on Comey prior to his firing

The special counsel has received handwritten notes from Mr. Trump’s former chief of staff, Reince Priebus, showing that Mr. Trump talked to Mr. Priebus about how he had called Mr. Comey to urge him to say publicly that he was not under investigation. The president’s determination to fire Mr. Comey even led one White House lawyer to take the extraordinary step of misleading Mr. Trump about whether he had the authority to remove him.

The New York Times has also learned that four days before Mr. Comey was fired, one of Mr. Sessions’s aides asked a congressional staff member whether he had damaging information about Mr. Comey, part of an apparent effort to undermine the F.B.I. director. It was not clear whether Mr. Mueller’s investigators knew about this incident.

Obstruction charges against Donnie are a very real possibility. The piece didn't mention it, but let's not forget Trump admitted to firing Comey because of the Russia investigation. Add to that the possible money laundering charges and this POTUS is looking less likely to finish his term. The guy is a criminal and a pathological liar.

We both know obstruction charges are serious, but his supporters will say A) the charges are fake news, and B) obstruction is on par with jaywalking.

They most certainly will, especially with the way Trump and his hacks have attacked Mueller as being on a partisan witch hunt. That's fine. If the Dems don't screw things up, they stand an excellent chance of taking back the House, where impeachment proceedings begin. Even if the Ds don't grab the majority in the Senate, they'll likely hold their seats and we'll see the 51-49 makeup. If Trump is facing charges, I could see at least a decent chance 2/3 of the Senate voting to remove Donnie.
