Michigan State's Dr. William Strampel charged not just with "neglect of duty" in supervising Larry Nassar, but also for groping female students and suggesting one female student provide a "favor" in exchange for retaking an exam, among other incidents. Up to 9 years if guilty.

true - one of the first things Engler did was get rid of this guy and initiate the process necessary to have his tenure removed. Not sure exactly how much of this Engler knew at the time but, at the very least, Engler knew he was a scumbag who needed to be shown the door.

certainly not to excuse it.. but if Strampel simply didn't take the allegations seriously (hell there is a whole list of people who fall under that umbrella), or maybe was derelict in following up on complaints, etc - that would be one thing.

but the way this reads and what it says to me is that he and Nassar were probably drinking buddies who compared notes.

And, on one hand, it kinda makes me nauseous to send my daughter there in the fall.. not because I'd be afraid for her safety, but just from a "I'm not giving that place my money" perspective..

but on the other hand, maybe this is the perfect time to send her. With all of this crazy mess coming to light, an (interim) President to seems to "get it" - at least with regard to this horrific situation - and a time for her and her fellow students to feel empowered to do something about it.

But is it true we let this POS continue to teach?    If that's true, I hope it had something to do with legality or something I don't understand.  Because if they're was a complaint filed against hi for touching inappropriately or they had these pictures, I don't understand it at all.  If that's actually true that he kept teaching, well fuck me, I'm glad my kid is a senior next year, cause we deserve everything we' might catch.    

Is there some lawyer here that can tell me why we'd have to let him continue to teach?   Or maybe I've heard wrong and he didn't teach at all when we said GTFO.
