If there’s nothing else trump accomplishes (and for republicans there might not be) he has accomplished making somebody like me fully away of who the fuck Joe Kennedy is. Why do I even know that?? Had Hillary won would I know him? Prolly not frankly. But his insistence on attention and making everyone constantly aware of politics in a way that they weren’t before might have some serious effects that republicans didn’t anticipate. 

(Note- if you are so inclined as to look up my posts from 2016 you’ll find me saying “trump winning is the worst thing that could happen for republicans” and I stand by it.)

Tbh I saw him talk about Obamacare repeal in like July or so, and sent it to dwags as proof that there were young democrats to be excited about, and his last name never really occurred to me.

The response is a platform that the parties use to see how their potential "face of the party" folks play to a national audience. Remember how Bobby Jindal was the Rep darling until he did the Mr. Rogers singsong response? It is actually important.
