Thanks for this. It's one of those pretty obvious things, but it brought home a few new items. Even unintended, the large social media players are contributing to a breakdown of social structure.

I have been making a more than conscious effort to avoid the temptation of hype.

I have been trying more than ever to see multiple angles and in the wake of the OTL piece, trusting the media less.

I can’t do it anymore. FaceSpace is the purveyor of propaganda and misinformation and has financial incentive to never change. Until there’s some serious changes to privacy laws and liability of social networks for the information they propagate, I’m out.

Only reason I check in on Facebook is to see how family and college friends are doing. Most of the time I’m on insta looking at travel pics. I actually really like Instagram way more than Facebook. way less bs there.
