Brad Ausmus says he beats his wife after losses

Apparently joking after today's game, another loss.

Should try beating other teams.

Detroit gave a rookie manager the keys to the Ferrari, and he's gone off and crashed it.

It's good that he revisited that comment in the same post-game news conference, because it would've caused a national shitstorm. It might still happen anyway.

He should have wore a wife beater while he said it.

He should have set something on fire and than danced in a circle around it signing like a crazed man so people would realize that he just likes to be funny.

I am not upset or offended by it. I know it was off color humor, and something I might joke about with my buddies. I generally have no problem with Ausmus as a manager at this point. I certainly don't blame any of the team's recent struggles on him.

But wow. For an Ivy League guy you gotta be smarter than that. You gotta know that there are internet/social media crusaders in this day and age that are going to skewer you for something like that, regardless of how many apologies you make. And you are in a very fickle profession with very little experience to stand behind.

First red flag for Ausmus is that apparently I'm smarter than he is, because I would be smart enough to not make a joke like that in front of the media in 2014. And I'm pretty dumb.
