Dombrowski won't fire him. He'd have to admit he was wrong. You go all in on a team you want to win a World Series but then you hire a rookie manager who has no clue what he's doing. That's fine if you have a young team and want to work some kinks out, but not when you're trying to make another World Series run. But now that he's here, you might as well give him another chance. They'll lose some good players next year, hopefully Brad will learn a few things and get better as a manager.

Ausmus just got the dreaded "vote of confidence" from Albom. Of course, that doesn't mean anything unless it comes from Dombrowski.
