And of course you'd laugh at such weak sauce.
When you realize there is no use arguing over this shit you'll feel a little better. No one is taking away anyone's guns. There will never ever ever be a civil war over guns. That's just a stupid internet tough guy meme. What happened to your love that neighbor shtick? That didn't last very long.
Again a stupidly framed argument on your part. Because I predict that a confiscation of guns will lead to a civil war that somehow equals that I've ditched my "love my neighbor" wishes? Ignorant as hell on your part. Predicting something in no way endorses it you dolt.

I’m not the one that rails on you for never having an independent opinion goose, that’s someone else.LooseGoose wrote:Travis of the Cosmos wrote: is it because you get led around by your noseo
This is why it's useless to debate anything with you. In your opinion I'm too stupid to form an independent opinion and am getting led around by the nose. That's laughable in light of the parroting of the same incorrect "facts" we hear from your side of the debate.
Though they do make good points.

I’m the one that tells you that no matter how much you don’t think you watch Fox News most of your opinions are derived from the same talking heads that show up there so it’s sort of like a chicken or egg type of situation
Just so you can try to keep straight in that big ole brain the specifics of who tells you why you come off as sorta dumb in these conversations

Yeah, I have a pretty good idea about how much research he's done on the matter (zero). He has a gut feeling, and he doesn't care to know whether or not it's supported by facts. He's as informed as Trump on this.
Since you're not a mod anymore, that last comment won't get this moved to tBin, right?
Look, logically it makes sense. “Video games are violent and it makes these people violent.” It follows. The problem is that this isn’t a new problem, people have looked into it and the answer is oh. Wait. No that’s not true even though in my head I think it is.
I guess I'll comment on this because my comments didn't resonate accurately, and you're being kind of an asshole in your personal attacks. I listed contributing factors. Some of them, I believe can help create the monster, some can help feed the monster.
Video games (which I accurately predicted would resonate negatively) are in the "feed" section. When someone has reached their darkest moment, I think they can contribute to the degree of the violence (explained at the very end, and based on research I have done well prior to this thread). Feel free to scan my posts and tell me if I've made a mistake here. If I did, my bad.
I never even mentioned causal factors, you filled in the blank there. I simply gave opinions on explaining the minuscule segment of society that engages in these horrific acts in the hope of trying to understand the "why" and "how".
I'll make it more simple. It doesn't matter if a person who has considered rape watches more porn right? It would have zero effect on someone who has or has reached that mindset right? Where's the study? You can point to statistics that show normal people are normal all day long. That doesn't prove anything. I expressed an opinion based on what I think is logical consideration. The WHO has classified gaming addiction as a disorder. I don't think the same exists for people who watch movies. Forgive my fucking ignorance, but addiction vs. entertainment seems like a stark contrast in the effect it can have on one's person.
I do, do research, and I had a conversation today with my entire family (kids 15 to 21) on the subject. My goal is to learn as much as I can about the cause, and hopefully, with some intelligence, share some ideas with my children. Why? Because I think that my position as a parent, above all, is to raise good citizens.
I'm in my 50's and I honestly don't remember any (I did not research this) shooters who marched down hallways and indiscriminately killed people... until after Doom (AD). I'm not going to go digging, but a woman wrote a book about school shooters. And, in that book, she talked about how one shooter scripted the action. The simularities were stark to shooter video games. And, it was her opinion (just like this is my opinion) that he (it was a he) didn't arrive on the script on his own because it mimicked something he had probably seen repeatedly in a shooter video game.
Why the hell is it so hard to even consider that you can be influenced by a game, intended to be as real as possible, if you aren't normal to begin with?

And golly gee....guess what doesn't happen when the police do their job?
The Mass Shooting You’ll Never Hear About
The Mass Shooting You’ll Never Hear About
Imagine, if you will, what the news would have looked like if all the authorities who had seen the red flags had acted prior to the mass shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. What would the political landscape look like today?
Well, we don’t have to imagine. We don’t have to imagine because we have a real-life example.
Gardena police found several guns and a cache of ammunition at the home of a high school student who threatened campus violence in two social media posts this week, authorities said.
The investigation began Thursday when police received a call regarding a threat to Serra High School, according to the Gardena Police Department. Investigators identified a student who posted a threatening message earlier this week.
The teen posted a more specific threat Thursday, saying that violence would take place on campus. Detectives arrested the teen, who was not named, on suspicion of making criminal threats and possessing a firearm as a juvenile.
In other words, the teen made a threat, the police acted, and no one is dead.
That’s what should have happened in Parkland, but didn’t. In Gardena — a mass shooting no one will ever hear about because it was prevented — the efficiency of the local authorities saved countless lives. Why? Because they acted.

Want to have an honest discussion? (I don't think you really do, but thought I'd ask anyway.)
Is there a specific difference in the case you mentioned?

Re: Michigan One of The Highest In School Threats
Last night, in two major cities, a dark skinned man was stopped in his car by police. The Police believed he had been speeding. These police however, did not stereotype the person they pulled over, they walked up to the car, asked for i.d., ran the plates and sent the man on his way because he had a clean driving record. There was no killing of an innocent man due to his skin color. The police were adequately trained and psychologically checked and did the right thing.
That's what should have happened in Minnesota, Baltimore, and countless other places- a senseless killing of a dark skinned man was prevented- the efficiency of the local authorities saves countless lives. Why? Because they don't profile, they see people not skin color.
O.K., next. This might be a fun thread.
