Half a city won't pay a bill? Detroit Pride!

In my home if the children don't do their chores and schoolwork on time, cheerfully, they don't eat supper. It's as simple as that. They remain outside in the backyard for the full hour and a half where they can see us, rain or shine, snow or hail, on their knees, praying for forgiveness for their prideful attitudes. If more parents taught their children to be productive and respectful, the city of Detroit wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

PAY YOUR BILLS!!! The gov't cuddles you enough as it is, i.e. socialist public transportation. So not only do your fat lazy butts get carted around, you don't even have to walk to a well to get your water. You just turn on your "tap" and voila.

And now you are all bitching because you won't pay a minimal bill for the gov't to deliver water to your house and you get cut off. Hello? That's how America works!!

It's quite clear "they're doing this because "they're" racists that want to see the citizens of Detroit suffer. There isn't any other reason why.

It really goes back to some of our conversations. It's unfortunate that the state gets to leverage a public good essential to life over its citizens. But this is because we have been conditioned to fail in place of the state or the private sector.

The citizens could go down to the lake/river and fetch the water essential to life, also. They'd have to filter and treat the water... instead of (theoretically) paying someone else to deliver it to their doorstep. But when you fail to pay your bills... it's not the fault of the individuals doing all of that work to provide you with safe drinking water. It's not a right to have something provided for you without paying/trading for it.

There's several problems with the attitude of individuals at this point in time... people feel it is their right to have these things provided to them by others, no matter what... but then there's also a sizable segment of society that believes if someone else refuses to do all of the work to provide them with these things without anything in return... it must be because they purposely want to see them suffer due to race (especially), sexual orientation, gender, etc.

Now I see all of these articles that imply this, specifically... with race being the overriding theme.

I say bail the people out and give them water. Give the people of Detroit a spot.
