Hill was a John Skipper hire and he had a different vision for ESPN than his replacement James Pitaro.

Pitaro recently stated he wanted to see more sports and less political and social commentary on the network.

Hill resigns with a buyout and is replaced with a person with a lower salary or her position and others won't be replaced as ESPN continues cost cutting.

Agree. And the most compelling listening on ESPN in recent years has been women talking about women’s issues in sports in an honest and empowered way. ESPN could carve out a place for stories and personalities that delve deep, but they choose to shun them. Winning strategy there.
