I fully support the 1st politician that comes out advocating a ban on the type of weapon used.

Handguns are used in 19 times as many murders as rifles.  Where are the courageous politicians and leaders when we need them?

This shooting just shows that all of the gun laws in the world won't stop the crazies, you need to get their weapons.   California already had the strictest gun control laws in the nation. They just passed a bunch more

And after that maybe we can find a way to legislate against crazy.

Let's break it down in regards to responses. Immigrant- build a wall, Mulism- terrorist/blow up the mid east/travel ban. African American- need more law and order. White guy- don't take our guys away/ mental health needs to be addressed. The NRA is probably praying for the 1st 3. They don't want to raise taxes for mental health treatment as a solution.

Can somebody help me out here? so this deputy went in and tried to stop the gunman, put his life on the the line and was killed in the process making him a hero I think? But he got shot. So is he a hero or not? Cuz I think we should all prefer our heroes not be shot

Even though i'm being sarcastic with the false flag i'm being serious that in social psychology there is a theory that massive community traumas such as these shootings cause terrible psychological problems to all community members. You think we have a mental health problem now wait 10 more years when an entire generation of people deal with the prospect of mass shootings. Everywhere.

It's the silent killer to our country and something the founders didn't have a grasp of at the time. Gun rights advocates will bury us literally and figuratively.

Not quite. 5 bullets were from the shooter but the fatal shot from the other officer.

What's actually more interesting is the fatal shot and the officers background. Military, highly skilled, trained etc. Yet were talking about arming teachers. Yeah F that idea.

C'mon. A good guy with a gun will always shoot someone in a gun fight.

More guns is always the answer.

But the NRA - America's Terrorist Organization - told me that only a good guy with a gun could stop a bad guy with a gun.
