I always have my phone on "mute" - no ring tone, no vibration, nothing - so every time I reach for it I have this momentary sense of dread of a bunch of messages from family members down south alerting me to one issue or another (the house, the car, the truck, the bank account, mail that arrived, etc) - it can be exhausting.
