LANSING — It may be summer but Lansing police found themselves busy with a man who apparently decided to take a snowmobile out for a ride.

The man is facing drunken driving charges today after he crashed a snowmobile into a tree on Lansing’s east side Sunday night, police said.

Lansing police said the 43-year-old man lost control of the snowmobile about 7 p.m. while speeding in an alley behind the 1300 block of Vermont Street.

The injured rider was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was admitted for observation.

Police said they will be seeking charges of operating a vehicle while impaired-third offense and operating with a suspended license.
