Yeah, I always thought a car was a safe place to be during electrical storms. They said the air bags deployed in that truck, the cabin filled with smoke and they were trapped inside the truck.

That's what I always remember hearing too. The rubber tires would help any lightening strikes.

I was actually looking for the scene where the girl was in her car getting zapped and Doug said "Don't get out or you will ground and get electrocuted"... but youtubes did not provide.
