NHL Free Agency...What Happened to Detroit?
Got nothing. Turned away by all of their targets without a hint of interest (or so it seems). Why are FAs uninterested in playing for Detroit?

Because the team isn't very good anymore. The Wings are no longer a top destination.

Players no longer want to come to Detroit, so Holland panicked and did the dumbest f-ing thing he could and gave Quincey a RAISE to come back and cough up the puck on the blue line. This is the dumbest thing Holland has done as GM.

Not all targets end up at top destinations. I can see losing guys to Cup contenders, but that is not always the case. They lost out on targets that signed with Washington and Edmonton. I think there has to be more to it than destination. I think that is a part of it, but not the whole story.

I've heard part of it is that some of these guys don't want to play for Babcock. I guess it's his style of being a dick and pushing hard. While that may be true, it's hard to argue with Babcock's success and track record (not just in Detroit).
