Right. Is there a criminal investigation in NY, as well? I can't keep them all straight. But the NY AG kept mentioning fraud, and I'm thinking, isn't fraud criminal activity? Of course, a civil suit has less of a burden of proof and doesn't require a unanimous jury, I don't believe. In any criminal case against Trump, it will be hard to avoid getting at least one Trumper on a jury.

In a civil suit taking the 5th is an admission of guilt. Trump took the 5th over 400 times in his disposition.

The guilty verdict is another chip in Trump's base. A Trump endorsement is still going to get candidates elected from 95% white East Bumfuck in Bullshit county Rural USA but tying your campaign wagon to a Trump endorsement in a state district that isn't at least 90% white isn't beneficial.

A Trump endorsement might help in a Republican primary but is a negative in a general election.
