I mean, I don't get a lot of things.  Why sign him for that money?  They're going to build around the QB I guess, and that's fine, but it seems like a wasted signing of bell.  Unless some team that needs a running back that is in place to win a super bowl would give them some draft picks.  

Sign, pay him, play him half a year, trade him

I hope he gets traded. Get him off the fucking jets. But yeah, kinda odd to sign him, have a shitty start to the season because you started your 3rd stringer QB for most of it, and sell a guy hard at the deadline with years left on his deal. It’s not like it’s an expiring contract.

Just heard at lunch that this was more of a case of teams calling the Jets. The Jets want a high draft pick and for whoever takes him to eat the whole contract. That seems implausible at this point.

Bell was signed by the old GM who was fired shortly after and replaced with Joe Douglas from the Eagles. I think Jets will clean house and tank for picks after they pawn off Bell, Adams, and Robby Anderson in the off-season. Gase is awful too. He should be fired.

The Jets have long been as sad sack as the Lions. They seem to have dropped below the Kitties in terms of horrible front offices.
