Recommend me a jacket...
I hate tight fitting jackets, pants, shirts, etc. but I don’t want a big ass parka. I’m looking for something that isn’t big and bulky yet compact enough to keep me warm and have freedom of movement. I get in and out of my vehicle a lot for work and spend time in and outside occasionally. Something warm, not restrictive yet comfortable. Yes I’m high maintenance. Live up north. (Sorry Bob)

denim.. specifically, a Levi's trucker jacket.
you can get a sherpa-lined one.
or, you can wear the Levi's trucker jacket under a Carhartt coat depending on conditions.
you're welcome.

Why is the guy who’s never set foot north of Ingram county the only guy with a credible recommendation?

Pretty sure with that hair color you’re considered a witch in Mio.

Been rocking this for a year and a half as my everyday non-work jacket and highly recommend. If you want speed and comfort, this is your jacket. At this price I might get a spare.

That’s a nice jacket. But I don’t want people assuming I’m an MSU offensive recruit.

The matching hat is a paper bag with a few eye holes cut out of it and the words ‘too embarrassed to show my face as a Spartan fan’. This style was trending after the fourth quarter of the Illinois game.

I’m kinda anti north face. No logical reason other than every Tom Dick and suburban white male seems to have one. Arc’teryx seems to be the shit though.

Damn it still can't make up my mind.
Down: Unmatched warmth/about as durable as toilet paper
Synthetic: warm rain resistant/bulkier heavier
Shell: pick you warmth level durable breathable/not very wind resistant heavier
fleece: comfortable breathable/required warmth breeds bulkiness
I need each pro that every category brings. I can probably rule out down because they are not durable and I'll snag the shit out of it. Sucks cause they are light and warm.

I got some.of their stuff. Base layer stuff, couple fleeces. Wife's son has a parka. Ive been exhaustively researching brands, applications, material, etc. It really seems like you get what you pay for in outerwear. I'm reserved to spending coin to get something good (not spending $1600 on a -40° parka though lol). Looks like it's gonna be a 200-250 for what u need from Arc'teryx, Patagonia, Rab, North face, Mountain hardware, Outdoor research, Marmot, etc.
