Narduzzi and company now have two redshirt freshmen request their release. Jones is from Dillard same HS that Lorenzo White and Josh Shaw played for.

Maybe he saw where another brutal winter is predicted.

I wouldn't doubt the weather this past winter was significant consideration. And if you are riding the pines, walking from Case to Hubbard when its -25 makes anywhere south of the Mason Dixon Line sound like Heaven.

Are we SURE he was granted his release? And it wasn't because we are running widescale academic fraud with our revenue sports, complete with fake classes, curricula, fake majors, etc?

These kids show up often being one of the best players on their team since they were in 9th grade. They get recruited being told how they will fit in for 4 or 5 years, etc.

Who knows what happened in the two most recent cases? Some aren't happy with their spot on the depth chart. Some don't like the idea of changing positions and possibly switching from offense to defense. Hell, some just get homesick and don't like being 1000+ miles from home.

I hope Jones lands at a place where he's happy.

Damn, even the kids that are leaving the team say a lot of positive things. This sounds as if it is part homesickness and part academics (bigger part academics). Lots of good things to say about the coaches. Also interesting to note that he's been gone since June 1. This doesn't look like he was run off at all.

Dantonio looks to care about players even when they leave. However he is quick to rescind offers to players being recruited.
