Also, Tom Izzo and Mel Tucker gave powerful statements yesterday.

Things to like about the two that go beyond sports.

Remember a couple of weeks ago when white guys stormed the Capitol in Lansing with assault rifles and Confederate flags....'cause they needed a haircut?

Tired of reading statements.

We need one city to step the fuck up. Announce right now they’re putting a committee together made up of community activists ,church leaders, police, psychologists, victim advocates, actuaries, students, gang leaders, business leaders, school leaders and whoever the hell else it takes. Pay these people for six months a decent salary. Crunch numbers and everything out there. Arrest stats dying in custody abuse complaints ethnic deaths whatever the hell you need to do. Then make policy. You won’t please everyone but please a lot you will.

I guess my point is, if we just read Izzo and Tucker statements and see drawings of black and white hands together and nothing changes, we get what we have coming.

What the flying fuck is going on with Minnesota police shooting rubber bullets at people's houses? They're on their property, and they fired at them. How is that fucking legal?
Sounds like minnesota police have what's coming to them.

Decent sized march in Lansing.. maybe 1,000+

Pretty peaceful it seems. At one point a smaller group started marching down I-496. The civil unrest thread - Page 3 502811600

Cops were allowing them to march and seemed basically to be anticipating where they were going so they could make sure traffic was stopped.

That's great, WBH. If you're up for it, look for groups that create sustained dialogues between citizens. Rebuilding social trust and social capital is key. You might find that you enjoy participating, too.

I agree with Mad Mike's message and the clearest path to change is organizing and voting. Voting is also a long game and it also involves people to actually get out and do it. Problem with voting is young people just don't vote and the highest turnout is 65+. Apathy is a huge problem for this country.

Getting rid of gerrymandering would help immensely. Level the playing field and the people's vote will start to count again.

Perhaps, but the other 5% are the professional agitators and instigators that are leading the shift from peaceful to violence, and who are getting their orders, whether they know it or not, from foreign governments.

Don Lemon was driving me nuts Saturday night, kept asking where is Trump where is the statement. Seriously it's better that he just stfu and stay in his bunker. You guys know it's going to go two ways a) he'll read from a teleprompter some bs about healing and uniting the nation and the press will gush about it until 3 hours later he tweets crazy shit or b) he's just going to tweet some crazy shit.

Looks like option B. He's tweeted shit about ANTIFA doing all of this. "No indication of white supremacists". And he's linking Biden to the riots. This country needs a Trumperectomy immediately.

I think people are rightfully upset about the hypocrisy of him calling out Obama for golfing but I do agree with you.

Also, proposed golf match Tiger and Trump vs Phil and Obama.
