Sorry you won't be getting the vaccine early. Federal government lets Santa down.

Those who perform as Mrs Claus and elves would also have been eligible for the jabs.

The festive collaboration was part of a $250m (£192m) government campaign to garner celebrity endorsements of vaccinations once they are approved.

But health authorities confirmed the advertising campaign had been scrapped.

Ric Erwin, chairman of the Fraternal Order of Real Bearded Santas, called the news "extremely disappointing."

"This was our greatest hope for Christmas 2020, and now it looks like it won't happen," he told the Wall Street Journal, which first reported the story. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has since confirmed the existence of the Santa plan to the New York Times.

Don't worry. Was in my local Meijer today and saw you can buy donuts individually from the case again.

Meijer is serving all their donuts, crullers, dunkers and bagels with COVID. Worrying about Christmas is thinking there will be Christmas.

My brother was Winnie the Pooh at Sears during his time at State. Got high marks for the effort, so he was asked and he agreed to be the mall Santa for a couple of years. This news would be heartbreaking, except now he’s a PT firefighter, so I guess he found a loophole for the vaccine.

And if this doesn't work at least he has given medical science the wisdom to create one. You will be saved by this vaccine. Unless of course you don't have insurance or can't afford to pay for it.
