obviously, it's not the Thanksgiving of days gone by. Lots of family and friends spread out and I suspect that we're all trying to do the right thing, as difficult as it is.

we're just hanging in East Lansing. Our daughter, at least at this point, looks like she'll be home. As most know (I said it in the coronavirus thread), but she tested positive maybe 3-4 weeks ago. She quarantined for however long she needed to, was cleared by MSU Health Team to go back to her work on campus after a certain point, now they've told her she can come home.

So.. we're digging that. Just gonna hang in, the three of us. We normally go to some friends house both Thanksgiving Eve then on Thanksgiving Day. Looks like we'll Zoom with them for a few minutes, instead.

It will just be me and my wife. Very bummed about it. We usually travel back to Michigan, I see EL, go to a bball game and drive back. Looking like Christmas will be cancelled as well.

For me Thanksgiving #1 and Fourth of July #2. For both I always drive home to Michigan and spend a week there. Next year I'm going to just pay for a hotel or vacation home. I can't miss another year away from the mitten.

My son and girlfriend are driving to our place. They have both been working from their EL home since Mar 16 and we are past infecting others with Covid.

Thanksgiving for four. Couldn't invite my nephew who lives in town because the girfriend's brother is on a transplant list and she wants to see him week of Dec 6.

Far cry from 25 years ago when it was 24 for dinner when 3 of our parents were alive and our respective siblings (and their kids) hadn't moved all over the country.

I just assumed in this case reciprocating saw meant one of your children sawed for a while with a handmade saw of some kind, and then a neighbor reciprocated by sending one of their kids to saw. Then you all ate together after batting the cooked bird around the oak post like a game of tetherball.

You could be right about that. The thing went maybe 10-12 feet in the air and sailed no more than ten feet.
I’ll pass on the helo. It’s cloudy and rainy here, with visibility at a minimum. Wouldn’t want my legacy to be I crashed in fowl weather.
