Swimming with sharks excursion
Has anyone ever done this? Headed to Cabo in a few weeks and saw this come up. Once I saw it, going to be hard to say no.
It’s not that expensive for a 4-5 hour trip and you can snorkel with “safe” sharks if they are able to get them close. Would love to hear from anyone that's done it. Place has 4+ star reviews on Google, seems like a once in a lifetime thing.

We've never done it, but we said we would st some point. Not that it helps you.
I would think if it's a place that has done it a lot, you're ok.

Go whitewater rafting. All the danger but, no sharks.

I've done that at the royal gorge in Colorado. Was super neat. This seems a bit different of adrenaline/experience.

Sounds awesome, but “safe sharks”? Is that the same as a “friendly pit bull”? I don’t know about such things but do you have a device that films underwater? I’d probably have a hard time breathing steady. Motown were you scared at all?

Re: Swimming with sharks excursion
from their FAQ D wags:
IS SWIMMING WITH SHARKS SAFE?
Swimming with sharks does come with a risk, however we at Cabo Shark Dive follow rigorous protocols, typical of the professional shark diving industry. These protocols are specifically implemented with tested and reliable safety measures to keep you safe.
HAS ANYONE BEEN BITTEN?
No one has ever been bitten on a Cabo Shark Dive trip. Before allowing you into the water, we teach you proper shark diving techniques so that you, and the sharks, can stay as safe as possible.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO SEE ANYTHING ELSE DURING THE TOUR?
YES! We are in the open ocean, and the water of Cabo are filled with marine life, so anything could show up. In the past year on this trip we have seen: dolphins, sea lions, orca whales, turtles, mantas, striped marlin, tuna, school of mobulas, humpback whales, and more! When diving with us, expect the unexpected!
DO YOU HAVE PROFESSIONAL UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES?
All of our tours include professional photography services. This means that while you are in the water our shark professionals will be capturing your amazing experience. We will edit, and send the photos to your email following the trip. All of the photos on our site are ones we have taken over the years, check out our gallery to see more!

Re: Swimming with sharks excursion
Not much more to report than what is expected. We were in Cancun when we did it in the late 90’s. I was definitely scared shitless at first but was overcome by a weird calmness once we were in the water for a few minutes. The sharks weren’t that big, maybe one over 5’ but most were 3-4’. If I recall correctly they were pretty well fed so not aggressive at all.
I was more scared when we went snorkeling at Molokini in Maui. It was a case of megalophobia and claustrophobi all at the same time being just a few hundred feet from great white feeding grounds and a current that would take you into the abyss of the Pacific Ocean while snorkeling. That was a reef though and the shark dive was in open water.

You used to be able to snorkel with sharks at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park. It closed a couple years ago, I believe due to the expense to maintain, bot because of any danger. So it can be safe for sure.
I would assume any tourist attraction would keep them well fed and used to humans being in the water so that they know your foot isn't a fish or anything.
But if they throw chum in the water before you jump in, be wary.

You're just lucky the sharks didn't have lasers mounted on their heads. They would have had you sliced and diced for dinner.

I'm pretty sure that's a different family of sharks, the sharks that have achieved spaceflight. They're more common in Georgia.

DO YOU FEED THE SHARKS DURING THE TOUR?
Our tour is NOT a shark feeding tour, as strive to we keep shark behaviour natural and relaxed as possible. The chum that we use to attract the sharks is in a “chum box” closed with no free access for the sharks. We use a liquid mixture of fish oil and fish blood to attract pelagic sharks. In addition, we only use sustainably caught fish caught in the area such as skipjacks, mackerel, and tuna. We hope to help local fishing families, so we don’t buy from commercial fishing companies!
(To me, this sounds like they do but they don’t haha).. it's still open water though... i'm sure they are going to similar "spots"
