Does this int’l shipping charge seem right to you?

Looking to buy something from a seller on Etsy. The product can’t possibly weigh more than a pound, and likely several ounces under.
Because the seller is in the UK, he’s charging USD $44. From what I found from Google, that’s in the ballpark for an int’l priority express package. Thing is, I don’t remember ever paying that much for shipping. Is there a better, less expensive way to get this thing stateside?
