North Carolina questions....

So, Bob... Apparently, as an "entertainment" option, I'm going to drag races somewhere near Greensboro today... Any advise for a mid-Michigander?

I think Greensboro is pretty much city folk compared to where Bob was raised.

Yeah, goobers united. The guy that owned the track dropped this little piece of racism in casual conversation...."he's more ripped then a n's checkbook"... Talking about a wasted white guy (couldn't understand a word) who was intruding on our little space.

Also got to go boating... Which was nice.

I wouldn't have had much to say about the racetrack in Greensboro, anyway. We actually lived in that area (we were in Winston-Salem) for 2 years, though.

Experiencing the "culture" was something though.

I have no freaking idea how people can know where they are in that state. Every road is a city planning cluster fuck. I swear we were on a road that had like 3 on/off ramps to the same highway like 5 miles apart... Pre smartphone maps, how the hell did anyone get anywhere? Whenever I leave mid-michigan, I know I will settle in a place with a grid system...

that was one of the craziest things about moving up to Michigan. The roads are basically north/south and east/west. Freaked me out for the longest time.

I get it. It's so much easier to navigate.

the mountains are (likely) worse than what you experienced, as the roads have to be sort of cut into the geographic landscape, meaning rock formations, etc. Lots of curvy, winding roads and very little directional ones.
