Lets discuss the stupidity of playing Appling the last two minutes of the UConn Game

What the hell was Izzo thinking. Appling was a complete liablity. He took him out the last two minutes of the game against Virginia and play Trice. Trice converted a couple of key free throws to seal the win. Izzo took appling out because he knew he couldn't shoot a damn foul shot. So, why have him in the last two minutes when we needed to score a basket to tie the game up. Instead, Appling craps the bed and fouls their best free throw shooter and costs us the game. Don't get the strategy on that at all. Eff the blowers! Let's discuss this stuff for reals on here! Spread the word, let's get all the cool kids from the RCMB over here. Let the Blowers blow sunshine on the RCMB.

I love the guy, but I'm still pissed off about how we kept playing him. We let that slip out of our hands - and playing Appling was the reason.

Appling was part of the reason. Mainly out offense is for shit the past two NCAA tournaments and thats on izzo and fife. This NBA two man game watch fest is killing us. Next yr aught to be interesting...

I agree with the general sentiment that Appling played too much post-injury. But Trice did not look comfortable against UConn either, so I'm not sure how much difference it really made in that particular game.

I just wonder how much different things could have been if we could have played UConn in the first game of the weekend, or if we could have played a less draining team than Virginia in the first game of the weekend.

Travel schedule was ridiculous too. Those late season losses really jobbed us in the tourney IMHO.

Pretty much this. Their defense was smothering. Trice wouldn't have made a difference other than not fouling on that three.
