tOfficial Swill Jacksonville State Tailgate

August 29th 7:30PM GameTime   Tailgating starts at 3:30PM


I was asked to help coordinate these tailgates. I need to know if there is serious interest in a separate tailgate, or if we will just all join the regular RCMB tailgate. We need everyone's help if this is to be done. We need a designated tailgate spot, someone to bring a grill, tables, food, etc.


I can bring a card table, and a pasta salad. Also I will bring several hundred jello shots as usual. Give me your suggestions and whatever you can help with this tailgate. And please refrain from bashing the other site in this thread. You have plenty other ones to do that with, and I would like to keep this on topic as much as possible. TIA

Cool. Just come to the spot where tRCMB used to have their tailgate. We'll be taking that spot.

I don't really see this happening. I don't think we have enough local people willing and able to set this thing in motion. I have no reservations - I would tailgate with you fuckers. Would be a blast, I'm sure. However, I do already have a tailgate I belong to, and I cook for our tailgate.

That being said, I really am trying to encourage the Swill tailgate thing because I like this place. I've said it before - get the tailgate going and I will cook for you, even if I can't tailgate with you. My Q is portable.

Or go undercover. Pretend to be an infamous poster...Opti for instance. Gain some intel. Get in. Grab a few shrimps and beers. Get out.

Trevor and Mel will welcome all as long as people are true Spartan fans and act civil. If you can't do those 2 things then no....you're probably not invited.

At the RCMB tailgates we don't really sit around and talk message board politics. We talk sports, drink, eat and have a good time.

Well said Pinky. I didn't tthink this would really work out, but if people wanted it, I could help set it up. Otherwise, tRCMB is my tailgate spot. Its all about having a good time with Spartan fans, and getting a little smashed with awesome Jello shots.

For a kid that was leaving and never coming back you sure seem to post a lot.

My suggestion is to just combine this with Trevor's. Makes things easy. I will drop by and drop off a few beers to pass. If we make this a seperate tailgate, then it gets one too many. I have to end up on the other side of campus to go to some other tailgates and at my age, Saturday's are beginning to be a workout just so I can down a few beers. Not sure I would want to have to walk someplace else.

I remember a former poster on the RCMB that has a tailgate nearby and was talking to Trevor about combining her tailgate with his. Don't know what came from that conversation, but combining 'gates make a lot of sense in this case.

I have. Keep in mind my kids were high school age and even older when they went, but others have brought their younger kids as well. One of my daughters even ended up dating Minnie's nephew for awhile when they met at a RCMB tailgate.

For all the    about meeting people in person after knowing them only as a message board nerd, it's really not that bad. I can't speak for anyone else, but I rarely even talk about the board when I'm at the tailgate.

Frank, if you come by on Saturday, you can join the clean-up crew as this game and tailgate is on FRIDAY.   

I'd love to come but it has been a heck of a last 31 days (my Dad has been in the hospital for 31 days now, TBI, and I've been there everyday except for when I went to a niece's wedding in VA and a quick trip to Chicago for a documentary) and not sure I will have the energy. Hope to see you all sometime this fall. . . or better yet at the Rose Bowl for the semi-final game!

I don't because they don't need to see Mommy and Daddy doing ice luge shots at 9am.

If anyone has brought kids, it was for one of the smaller tailgates. Usually then, they're just passing by and not sticking around though.
