So,

After some deliberation, I've decided to remove Bob from the moderator's group.  My decision is based on two factors:

1.)He has made it clear that he doesn't really want to be a moderator anyway.
2.)Some posters have mentioned that you can't ignore a poster who is a moderator.

So basically, this is due to a (perfectly reasonable) software limitation.  The forum tBob will live on and I hope there is continued development there and the forum eventually turns into the lazy, PBR spiced, summer afternoon discussing local stuff that it is meant to be.

Personally, I like Bob (mostly) but I can understand some posters' desire to fine tune tSwill experience by turning down certain frequencies.  If you do not know how to ignore a poster, you can fiddle fart around with your user profile and figure it out pretty quickly.

Edit:  Just to be clear. Bob is still the overlord of tBob, I just had to remove him from the moderator's group due to a software limitation. Any moderating that he would like to do in that forum can be done via proxy (by me or Heat) with a simple PM request.

The minute the software is updated to allow for ignoring a moderator from another board in this board, I will reinstate him as moderator of tBob in the user control panel.

dude is right - I never wanted to be a "mod" - I actively supported Trevor for the position - mainly out of my admiration for Dan Kilbridge and his fascination with sweaty 17 year old boys...

so, yes, it's a subversive attempt at undermining democracy - but democracy isn't all it's cracked up to be.

The likes thing was gag bro.

The ignore thing - yeah, I like the feature. Certain posters spam the board. And it's annoying and you can't not read it when it's in every thread. It's not about politics. It's about repetitiveness.

for you Moose..

Now young faces grow sad and old and hearts of fire grow cold
We swore blood brothers against the wind
I'm ready to grow young again
And hear your sister's voice calling us home across the open yards
Well maybe we could cut someplace of our own
With these drums and these guitars

Blood brothers in the stormy night with a vow to defend
No retreat no surrender

Post by WhiteBoyHatcher 8/6/2014, 11:33 am

Look I really don't GAF about this. I didn't mean to make this a public fight. I am not going anywhere even if I can't put Bob on ignore. Like I said, it just becomes super repetitive and you open the board some mornings and the top 20 threads all have Bob posts about Buffy and Instagram and Nedgo and Trevor and blah blah blah. It only came up because I went to try to figure out the foe thing a SECOND time because of Bob's repetitiveness and remembered I couldn't do it so I asked the question.

I want Bob to keep posting in the manner that he enjoys and I don't want him to go anywhere. I could GAF if he's a mod or not. I simply would like the option to not have to see the repetitiveness when it becomes annoying.

Whatever works for you guys. If Moose is going to be a see you next Tuesday about it, restore Bob. I don't care or take any of this too seriously.

Have fun guys, I'm off to UP NORTH (for realz).

Nope, not just you WBH. You (and others) just pointed out the issue. I was not aware of this limitation when I create tBob and put him up for moderator of that board. I think its an assumed feature of any potential moderator that they not be someone who is as controversial by the nature of the voting system. Bob was a special case because he has his own forum.

This was my decision alone and based on many different input sources not just one poster.

in all honesty, I appreciate everything you've done here and with this board - and I've never even been tempted here (or at the other, lesser board) to ignore someone.. if I don't agree with someone, I simply don't read their threads or posts..

though I do completely understand that there is a certain magnetic power to me and my thoughts, ideas and theories.. it's very evident.. and I'm committed to using that power for good.
