So I was watching something on YouTube, and one of the recommendations was the full album "Marquee Moon" by Television. It's one of those heralded albums that I just never got around to checking out. I figured today was finally the day and clicked into it. That's when I discovered that Tom Verlaine died on January 28, 2023, exactly 60 days ago.

There wasn’t a nicer man than George Fox. He let us play hoops on his driveway basketball court for hours on end after school, every day. We loved it because we could run up and jump onto a small part of his house under the basket, and use it to then jump up to slam the ball. Then Earvin would stop by and we’d throw him the ball and he’d stand under the basket and dunk it. lol
Keeping good thoughts for the family. The Fox’s raised some great kids who were excellent friends. RIP.

Long ago local celebrity Brad Curtis has died.
Some of you old timers who grew up in the Lansing area or listened to 101 FM while at MSU in the 70s might remember Brad. He was an on-air jock and program director. After Lansing, Brad worked part time in Detroit radio and full time with Lansing’s WLNS television, formerly WJIM. He went on to work for ABC Sports and then NBC Sports. When he retired, Brad had been running audio inside the booth for NBC’s prime time football games with Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth for several years. Brad was bombastic and brash and one helluva nice guy. I’m going to miss him.

The wife dragged me to one of his concerts a few years ago at Wharton Center. I'm not a fan of his music but he was okay and didn't seem to have any trouble singing his songs.

Fun fact. The Morrell broke in half.  The bow snapped off and the Stearn steamed on five miles more with no bow. One survivor. 1966.
