I guess he was still kicking until today.
New York (CNN Business)Jim Lehrer, the legendary debate moderator and former anchor of the "NewsHour" television program, died Thursday. He was 85.
Lehrer's death was announced by his longtime network home, PBS, where he co-founded the "NewsHour" in 1975.
PBS said Lehrer died "peacefully in his sleep at home" and did not share further information about the cause of death.
Lehrer anchored the "NewsHour," the flagship newscast on public television in the United States, for 36 years. He retired in 2011.

Sorry if posted somewhere else and I missed it, but John DiBiaggio apparently died over the weekend.
If Merrily Dean Baker is alive she should be on alert after Perles and DiBiaggio.

DiBiaggio probably thought, “All I wanted to do was outlive Perles, even if by a day. I can let go now.”

I remember Pat Perles at a football camp bitching about Dibiaggio having two jobs so how dare he say George couldn’t. I’m like WTF Pat, what’s his other job? He says “he’s a dentist!”

I assumed the "hit by car" thing was intended to be a funny reference to one of his acting roles, but holy crap. Multiple cars.

My best Pat Perles memory involves Dantonio and his dry sense of humor. Marshall had agreed with MSU that we'd play each other first game of the season, but Marshall snuck in a game before they played us. The staff was livid. You had an option of playing before labor day, or of the week. I can't remember the exact rule. We were worried about Marshall, they were decent and we didn't want a Central Michigan fiasco to start our season. Them getting a game in before us, would help them big time. We were sitting around having lunch and Perles was waxing eloquent on what kind of "fucking cheats" they were. As a visiting coach, you just sit there with your mouth shut and listen, you never chirp in, just know your place when the coaches are together they have the stage. So anyway, Pat finally says, "And I hear they're trying to get another game in too!!!!". Silence. Dantonio, gets up, takes his tray, looks at Pat and says "Jesus Pat, when do they plan on playing, Wednesday?", and just walks away

The greatest adventure
Is what lies ahead
Today and tomorrow
Are yet to be said
The chances the changes
Are all yours to make
The mold of your life
Is in your hands to break
I watched that show hundreds of times and can probably recite most of it.

It's easy to grin
When your ship comes in
And you've got the stock market beat.
But the man worthwhile,
Is the man who can smile,
When his shorts are too tight in the seat.
