There have been significant improvements in treating a number of brain cancers over the past 30 years, to the point that it’s not always the death sentence it used to be. Some are still as deadly as ever, unfortunately. My dad died from one of the types that’s still always fatal. Hoping Wakefield has one that’s treatable.

btw, it was Curt Schilling who disclosed Wakefield’s illness and he wasn’t supposed to do that. Schilling is taking heat, but he’s used to that. It was a dick move to tell the world about someone else’s private business without first getting permission.

Thought Richard Harris was very good in the first two movies when the storylines were a bit lighter. Thought Gambon did a great job after Harris' passing, when things got darker in following movies. McKellen might have played the role as well or better. We'll never know.

At one time I could throw it semi-consistently... but when my kid started pitching in his travel league I tried to teach him and neither of us could get it. When it does work though it's freaky as hell. Got to have a good catcher too.
