Edey is a freak of nature... influenced msu's O everytime msu touched the ball... they were even scared to take the midrange jumpers because of his length.
No one in the country has that effect on the game like him. (Gonzga guy & Kentucky guy didnt...)

Sure, he did what he did, which was Izzo's plan.

What didn't happen is that the other Purdue players were not held in check quite enough.

If he has scored all of Purdue's points, like Chamberlin did when he scored over 100, then it would be all on him.

Still, if Walker hadn't missed his last shot, we wouldn't be talking about it.

Purdue is currently the #1 overall seed in Bracketology. There have been plenty of teams who have tried to double Edey and lost. If you hold him to 50% and contain their 3 point shooters, you're going to have a chance to win.

Edey was +5 vs. MSU
Mady was +10
Cooper was -7
Kohler was -7

Need better defense out of the back ups.

Agree about Izzo’s strategy. The casual observer will see the points and say we needed to double him more. I know shit about basketball and while I know Izzo was in the frame of mind to let him get his and frankly it was working, we were close without Hall, maybe he could have doubled him in that last play. (Armchair quarterbacking)

Only one close enough was Walker. If he leaves his man, then Edey kicks it out for a wide open shot (and Izzo's never going to do that). As it was, Mady defended about the best he could. Probably could have been called for a foul. Edey knocked it down. It's OK. The other team can have guys that make shots. All part of the game.

Would love to see a win today. Don't have a good feeling. But, I've been wrong before.
