Re: Should we be worried?
The company was shipping the ammonium nitrate in pellet form and believes it may have begun falling out of the rail car at some point during the trip, a Dyno Nobel spokesman told KQED.
So there is a trail of this stuff from Wyoming to California? Yeah, I'm not buying the bread crumb theory. This is worrisome, yes. Can we send Roc to investigate?

I'm worried that since they have liquid tank cars in the picture rather than hopper cars we aren't getting the full story.

Skynet makes its first move. Didn’t think AI would get this far, this fast.

Re: Should we be worried?
Should be concerned.
There are a lot of similarities in statements by state and Federal legislators supporting the beliefs of those who participated in the Jan 6 uprising and statements of legislators in 1994-1995 supporting militias that culminated in the April 1995 bombing Murrah Federal Building in OKC.
Might be black market theft for agricultural use but there might be too many people involved to pull that off.

Re: Should we be worried?
All chuckles until secessionists, sovereign citizens, neo-Nazi’s or other group(s) who insist Biden isn’t the POTUS blow up some building(s) and people.
A lot of people, even in law enforcement, outside of the FBI didn’t take the militia rhetoric seriously until after the OKC bombing.
Difference between then and now? There are a helluva a lot more people including members of the US military, legislators, local law enforcement who agree with the Jan 6 terrorists.

Not a rant Travis.
Just citing historical precedent.
I apologize for interfering with your Sunday thoughts.

So…. When you said “there are a lot of similarities in the statements between these two groups of people” you just made that up then?

Re: Should we be worried?
Where is the 60K Lb of Ammonium Nitrate That Went Missing?
Dyno Nobel says it believes the material — transported in pellet form in a covered hopper car similar to those used to ship coal — fell from the car on the way to a rail siding (a short track connecting with the main track) called Saltdale about 30 miles from the town of Mojave in eastern Kern County.
“The railcar was sealed when it left the Cheyenne facility, and the seals were still intact when it arrived in Saltdale. The initial assessment is that a leak through the bottom gate on the railcar may have developed in transit,” the company said through a spokesperson.
A Federal Railroad Administration representative, though, says the investigation points to one of the hopper car gates not being properly closed, according to local California news sources.
