Kyle Whittingham is a great 63 year old coach who has came to Utah 19 years ago as a position coach after brief pro career and has been the Ute’s HC since 2005. He played for Provo HS and played for BYU. He’s stayed home.

MSU was never near the station to get on that train.

Bobby was hired for the head job. Coach Bang Stick is just trying to hold it together until the next guy takes over. I think he's doing a great job at that. I'm shocked 15 or 20 didn't immediately jump to the portal. I understand people want someone to blame for the play on the field... you should be blaming Tucker. Without that distraction, they could pretty easily have 4 wins now, and make it to 7 (+?)...

Meyer mania is going strong. Posters sound like a bunch kids with shovels who found a barn full of horseshit and digging to find the pony.

All of us are blessed with 20/20 hindsight. Lance Leipold was at Buffalo when Dantonio resigned. If we knew then what we know now, the moment Fickell lost interest, Leipold should have been called. Might not have been interested but MSU got too wrapped up in not hiring a MAC coach.

Reading some of the over the top comments on what posters on other boards have written on what they will do if Meyer isn’t hired.

My favorite is paraphrasing, “If Haller doesn’t hire Urban Meyer, I’m done with MSU football. Will never go to another game and won’t ever donate again.”

I’m thinking that’s less than 50 pair of season tickets and maybe a few thousand dollars max. That’s not figuring in the RCMB multiple screen name factor. Then if Meyer would be the coach they’d be howling for his head after the 3rd loss of the first season.

My eyes tell me MSU job is less desirable than it was when Mel Tucker was suspended. The team’s only wins were early season non-conference opponents. 2-6 with Ohio State and Penn State (at Ford Field) along with IU and Nebraska. Probably a 4-8 season at best.

Then MSU BOT is a full blown dumpster fire with its Chair being investigated for leaking Tracey/Tucker details, some members calling for her job and the same BOT trying to replace the interim university president.

This isn’t an MSU job it would have been if Dantonio would have retired after his last 10-3 season in ‘17. After the Tucker fiasco, I don’t see MSU signing a coach with more than a 5 yr/$30M, maybe less..
