Congressional Medal of Honor

Because for some things I really do care.

Former President Trump's recent words about the so called equlvance of the Congressional Medal of Honor to the Presidential Medal of Freedom enrage me.

Gus the Trapper, veteran of the US Army in combat in Europe from Febuary 1945 to the end of combat was awarded the lower level Bronze Star, for what, he would never say.

He said, "I was not a hero, the guy's who came ashore at Normandy were heros."

The Military has extremely high standards for the award of the Congressional Medal of Honor, which include multiple levels of testimony and vetting.

That those heros could be compared to someone who plays golf extremely well, as two of then President Trump's awards of the Presidential Medal of Freedom were for, is beyond belief.

Fuck Trump.

The professional officer corps, especially those from the academies, well except the Air Force academy which has a significant number of Christian Nationalist professors, have got to see Trump as the opposite of what they stand for.
