Saw the play and had to be one of those old HS/College habits kicked in and instead of a slide to play another series, Tua led with his head.

He signed his $212 is for 4 years deal in July 2024. That included a $42M signing bonus and $93M guaranteed at signing. Total guaranteed money is reported at $167M.

The two most dramatic injuries we’ve seen in the NFL the last couple of years. Tua’s head injury and Hamlins chest (heart) injury. Both were horrific.

Hamlin’s chest connecting to Tua’s head here is somehow the football gods speaking to us in someway. I don’t get the message but the irony is unbelievable

I had a quarterback, one game that came to me on the sidelines and said coach, “ Fucking Frank pissed himself”. Frank was my center. He was pretty good. I think he got honorable mention all conference that year. We call the time out, I I asked Frank if he had pissed himself, but I could already tell he had. He had a great answer, “ Fuck coach, we’re moving the fucking ball, what do you want me to do come out of the game?” I told him, good point, but Shawn‘s a little bit upset because he’s got to put his hands there. Frank looked at Shawn and told him to stop being a pussy

You can see the center of throwing up, snapping the ball, and still getting a pretty damn good block

Interesting stat I saw on the twits, but didn't copy it. I think it's true. Pat Mahomes has had more interceptions that he's thrown overturned due to penalty than any QB in the league the past 5 yeras 17. 17 times he's thrown an interception but KC got the ball back due to a defensive mis-step.

Be interesting to know what the calls were. Is he just throwing it up for grabs on free plays or is he getting an inordinate amount of PI calls.

The thread had the flavor of he was getting breaks from the officials

I don’t really buy that, but I’ve seen where Aaron Rodgers was the Golden boy for a long time and if you touched him while he was passing he more often got a call, then he wouldn’t have gotten one. As far as 50-50 balls, I think most officials give the benefit of the doubt to the offense of receiver. And then there might be some calls where people like Mahomes and Rogers see a guy jump off side no they’ve got a free play and just take a wild shot at something.

I don’t know how it breaks down for Patrick Mahomes, but yes, that would be interesting to see

I’ve heard stories before about players peeing and shitting themselves while playing. My guess all the types of body fluids have made their way to the playing field. Yep, even that.

Can anyone, with confidence feel like they could name at least 50% of playoff teams?

When it’s 4th down and less than a yard, why do so many teams call run plays that go east/west instead of attacking north/south? It’s just so fucking stupid. Cost the Falcons a chance at a win tonight, but too many teams in the NFL and college do it.

Man there is a ton of incest on the rams and packers staffs. 49’ers too. It’s a real small world these coaches in the NFL. Hard to break into Once you’re there, it’s pretty easy to find a job somewhere else

Lesser extent it’s the same way in college. That’s why back in the old Joe Paterno scandal days, It’s my intention that If one person on that staff knew that Sandusky was doing something to that kid in the shower, Everybody on that staff meal within 24 hours

Hindsight tells us Sheila Ford Hamp and team president (and Ford family personal banker) made a better decision hiring Brad Holmes the same day the Jets hired Saleh then hiring Dan Campbell a week later.

Not if they keep getting 12 penalties a game. Granted some were bullshit last night. I watched the whole game at I KNOW some people had to have turned it off. That crew had two non TDs overturned by “video assistance”. That’s when the NFL buzzed in and says “nah dog, you blew that call. It doesn’t even require a challenge”. On the half time haul Mary they called it incomplete and some dude comes running in to tell everyone else it was a catch. It was the catchiest of catches I’ve ever seen. I think there was like a total of 24 penalties for like 200 yards. Complete joke.
