Why is this almost unanimous vote?
Every local royalty car dealer in the state just had a collective Mr. Burns "excellent" moment together.

It's complete bullshit protecting the guys selling buggywhips.
They let me buy a car from Fast Eddie's Used Cars, but not Tesla.

Welcome to the new America. Where competitive innovators and business models are exterminated with prejudice. Gotta keep that government funded gravy train churning along. Us tax payers will be required to bail out these greedy fuck companies again. Book it. I used to think all the rhetoric about this country reaching a point where it will be turned upside down was loony talk. Stuff like this makes me wonder.

I'm not a big fan of laws that protect business from fair competition. Unfair competition, on the other hand, like intentionally selling product at a loss to kill off competitors, should be against the law. Tesla isn't dumping vehicles or trying to engage in unfair competition, they are fairly competing using a different model. There shouldn't be artificial barriers to their business model. Besides, they are selling in a niche market right now, so I can't imagine there's much in the way of conquest sales for Tesla. Right now, people either want an all electric car, or they don't, there aren't many people agonizing over the choice between gas/hybrid and all electric.
