that would be a fun game. Definitely the best 2 loss teams in the country (right now, anyway - Auburn still has Alabama and Georgia)..
on another note, I can't decide which will be the next best non-playoff game.. either the Bitcoin Bowl, the Potato Bowl or the Quick Lane Bowl... those games always seems to fly just under the radar in terms of national interest.

I think the match up is bound to happen sooner or later. MSU and Auburn have been close to crossing paths before. My BIL is an Auburn alum. Would make for a fun time in my case.

After this weekend, I feel that Auburn would truck us as bad as Bama did a few years ago. Then again Dantonio is getting pretty good about being prepared for bowl games.Â

I'm ok with that. I have friends in Savannah who I've been wanting to visit and could crash with--and yes, I realize Savannah is about 4 hours from Atlanta, but it's still closer than Michigan.

I think they changed the Chik Fil A Bowl back to the Peach Bowl. Or it's the Peach Bowl sponsored by Chik Fil A. Something like that.

I could live with that. I've got a friend that's been wanting the wife and I to come visit her in Atlanta.

Spartan D didn't have much problem with Ameer. Is UGA more of a passing threat than UNL so that it opens things up for Gurley?

Todd Gurley is 10x the beast Ameer is. I still maintain he's the best RB in college football

Re: MSU vs. Auburn in the Peach Bowl? That would be fun.
There's no doubt that this OSU game has left my confidence shaken in the D. The lack of pressure on Barrett is something to be concerned about with Auburn. If their QB has no pressure on him, then I'm thinking they can exploit those big plays. OSU played a flawless game on offense and I'm not sure if our D problems can be fixed relative to athleticism and decision making, at least not this season because we don't have another opponent on our schedule that can duplicate what OSU did, and I think that Auburn can duplicate what OSU did on offense.InTenSity wrote:After this weekend, I feel that Auburn would truck us as bad as Bama did a few years ago. It would be interesting to see Narduzzi's analysis of the OSU game and see if he can develop a.scheme to neutralize it with our existing players. I guess I'm wondering how much of OSU's dominance was pure athletic talent and how much was just mental mistakes by our D. If it was more pure athletic talent, then I believe that Auburn would have comparable athletic talent to OSU and would be capable of doing the same things.

I think this is an extreme over-simplification. I have full confidence that Nar-dog will learn from the OSU game and make the proper adjustments. Linebacking corps in general are not fast, not just ours. Most fast college linebackers become safeties.

Ok explain why we got zero push whatsoever on basically every running play?

OSU had 268 yards rushing on Saturday.
OSU had 273 yards rushing in the Big Ten Championship Game last year.
Nebraska had 313 rushing yards in 2012.

Yeah, but a big chunk of that was a long run by Miller. On the other hand, Miller got chased around a lot more than Barrett did. In fact, I can't recall Barrett getting chased around at all. There's a big difference between getting a lot of rush yards on mostly big plays, and getting a lot of yards 7 - 10 yards at a time. OSU's run game this year was was the latter type and was way more dominant than it was last year.NigelUno wrote:

Miller had a 48 yard run in 2013.
Barrett had a 55 yard run this year.
Elliott had a 47 yard run this year.

Boy, it sure didn't feel that way. I can't argue with that though. It just felt different than last year, maybe it was Miller's scrambling that made last year feel less dominant than this year. All I know is that I felt like OSU could do whatever it wanted and the D couldn't stop it. It didn't feel that way in the CCG.NigelUno wrote:

Here's the big difference:
Passing yards
2013: 8/21 101 yards
2014: 16/26 300 yards
Miller's QBR was 34.4 Barrett's was 95.8

Barrett is a super star in the making. I hope they put 90+ points up on UofM.
