How do you keep defending champions FSU that is undefeated out? No way OSU should jump OSU.

No style points, they barely win against marginal opponents. They play down to the other team's level. Did you mean TCU?
How do you justify TCU over Baylor who beat them head to head?

OSU almost lost to PSU, Michigan, Indiana no way they jump an undefeated national champion. FSU has earned it.
TCU lost by 3 points to to Baylor in a shoot out, Baylor got blown out by WVU. TCU took care of business against WVU. TCU's loss was to a playoff contender, Baylor lost to an unranked team.

How can TCU drop 2 spots after their blow out of Iowa State?

Because FSU and OSU each looked impressive in quality wins, and OSU showed that they are a dominant team, not just a one man show. I suppose that's how they justify it. I am 99% certain that's what it's going to be. That's how the sportsbooks have it pegged. OSU is an overwhelming favorite to get in and TCU is like 5/2.
If it were up to me, I never would have had FSU below TCU.

I would actually really like that because I would have no problem rooting for OSU and Oregon to win.

If the undefeated defending champions were left out then the system is more broken than I thought. No one likes em, but that would seriously stupid. Bama, Oregon, fsu, tcu.

Couldn't agree more with your statement regarding FSU.

You are probably right, I just don't get what the justification will be though for TCU dropping two spots when they took ISU to the wood shed. If they got to three, and after a convincing victory like that they suddenly drop 2 spots?
I do agree that they shouldn't have been ahead of FSU, but they are and I just can't picture them dropping 2 spots after putting up 55 on Iowa State. I just can't see how you do it.

Re: Name the Final Four
They will justify it because they have to.
I doubt this was their thought process at the time, but last week it seemed like it was all going to work itself out pretty cleanly. They consciously had made a decision that TCU > Baylor, and by putting them 3 spots away from one another, Baylor wasn't going to jump them short of TCU losing to Iowa State.
They made another statement by putting FSU 4th. Probably a subconscious combination of Jameis is a shitbbag-unimpressive in victories-think they might lose to Ga Tech.
The other statement they made was we're keeping OSU out barring a miracle because we think they're a one man show and will probably lose or at the very least not look impressive enough in victory to jump into the Top 4 if no one loses.
Well, shit got flip turned upside down. They failed to see how the previous week's line of thinking could bite them in their face. FSU winning makes them a must. They can make a statement all they want about personal beliefs that they're not any better than 4 of 4 of those other teams, but a Power 5 Conference team just ran the table, won their conference, and haven't lost a game in two years. Oh and by the way there are no other zero loss teams. Their hands are tied, they have to put them in.
OSU winning in the fashion it did really ****ed them. Anything short of what they did and the committee has an easy case for leaving them out. But last night's victory was THAT impressive. It makes you rethink your previous stance on them.
They will likely say that the way OSU beat a top 15 team in addition to having arguable the best win out of any of the top teams catapults them over TCU. And they're going to have to use the same argument for FSU about beating a top team while TCU played bottom feeder Iowa State.

Can I just say one last time- goddamn do I hate this shit.
I feel like I'm watching ice dancing with the judges debating which couple twirled prettier. This isn't how sports are supposed to be.

Yeah, I think you are spot on. Well I think we as Spartan fans should root for TCU to make it. It's time to stand up and fight this system where old time power house teams get the leap. The narrative all season when MSU was on top was that the B10 was too weak. Well now that OSU is in the drivers seat suddenly it is a massive paradigm shift.
If it were MSU in TCUs place with a traditional power on the outside looking in we would most likely get jumped. It's time for that type of nonsense to stop.
My argument still stands that if TCU was #3 last week they shouldn't drop.

Yep, I agree. You are saying some good shit today Travis. I've always said cfb needs a system where the GAMES do all the talking.

Also, at least there is a playoff now. Can you imagine if this was bcs rules and one of Oregon Alabama or fsu was going to be left out? Whoever was left out would be rightfully furious.

Or the pre BCS system where the two best teams wouldn't even face off. They'd be stuck playing a traditional bowl game and then coaches and the press would vote on who's the best.
Two times Nebraska won the title in the 90's where they didn't play the 2nd best team. One time the vote worked in their favor where they jumped PSU, and the other time the voters were split so it was a tie with Michigan. So lame.
