Apparently Harbaugh and Meyer needed to save the Big 10

No mention of the Big Ten team that has won 52 games since 2010. If the Conference does need saving, maybe the Big 10 should stop hitching itself to only these two relics.

How pathetic is a sport if it desperately needs a team back?

You never see baseball saying it needs the dodgers or the Yankees to be good.

The sport does not need the Big Ten to be great. The Big Ten does not need UM or OSU to be great. The entire article is about how Harbaugh and Meyer will be good for Big Ten marketing. What the Big Ten needs to to is win games and beat marquee opponents. That is what is needed to save the Big Ten (if it needs saving). You could add Vince Lombardi but if the Big Ten is not nationally competitive it will not be taken seriously. Nobody cares about the UM/OSU rivalry if neither team matter nationally. I just thought it was interesting how the author fails to mention the best team in the conference over the past five years. I guess MSU has no role in the future of the conference.
